Short Bio

I have received my Electrical Engineering Degree (Systems and Applied Informatics Specialization) in 2008 from the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers, "Politehnica" University of Bucharest, Romania.I have obtained my PhD in Control Engineering in 2011 under the supervision of Prof. Sorin Olaru at the Department of Automatic Control, Supelec (now CentraleSupelec), Gif sur Yvette, France (École doctorale STITS of University Paris-Sud XI). In 2012 I was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Engineering Cybernetics, NTNU, Trondheim, Norway under the supervision of Prof. Morten Hovd with an ERCIM Alain Bensoussan Fellowship Programme.

I obtained my Habilitation thesis in 2018 (confirmed through Order 5500/14.11.2018).

Currently I am (previously Associate, 2016-2019 and Assistant, 2013-2016) a Full Professor at "Politehnica" University of Bucharest in the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering.

I am the (co-)author of 20 papers in ISI indexed journals, patent no. WO2018215910-A1 (USPTO'18), 2 books ("Set-Theoretic Fault Tolerant Control in Multisensor Systems'', Wiley - ISTE '13 and "Mixed-Integer Representations in Control Design: Mathematical Foundations and Applications'', SpringerBriefs '16), 2 book chapters (Springer '13, '15), and of over 55 papers in top (IEEE and IFAC affiliated) Automation and Control conference proceedings.

My main research interests are the application of set theoretic methods into the fault tolerant control of dynamical systems through the prism of set theoretic elements. My current work involves further research in set theory, constrained optimization problems and the coupling between motion planning, flat representations and spline approximations.
